Me: What's wrong with you today? You look sad, and you're too quiet.
Dominik: Nothing.
Me: I don't believe it. Did anything happen? Is Mom ok?
Dominik: No, no. It's nothing like that. It's just life.
Me: Girls?
Dominik: No. Just life.
Me: What about it?
Dominik: Well, you know when you just start thinking, and you get tired?
Me: Yeah...
Dominik: Well, I was just sitting there, thinking about life, and I got tired. It's too much, I hate it. Like I don't wanna die, but I'm just tired. You know?
Me: I know. Go chill in the back.

5 Thoughts on NCLB on its 10th Anniversary →
One of my ed professors in undergrad would frequently rail against NCLB. I didn’t have any other frame of reference and I respected her and appreciated her mentoring in other areas, so I accepted a lot of what she said. Even then, though, I thought her broad condemnations were sort of odd and flimsy. This gives, I think, a pretty balanced view of the successes and shortcoming of NCLB.

RedefinEd on Philly Catholic school closings →
I like how much attention RedefinEd pays to Catholic schools. We’re often forgotten in the broader conversation on education.

My rate of tumbling has been pretty low. The 23 tabs of education goodness and random internet stuff I have open right now should fix that.
Don’t worry. I’ll queue them so as not to flood your nets and webs. You know, all seven of you who read my tweets/tumbls.
